The Rehabilitation and Power Upgrade of the Luachimo Hydroelectric Plant includes the following work: Rehabilitation of the existing hydromechanical equipment at the Luachimo dam, specifically: the two main spillway gates and their operating mechanisms, the three components of the co-flow gate and their operating mechanisms, the replacement of the bottom outlet gate with a new segment-type gate, and the complete overhaul of the electrical systems; Construction of a new hydraulic circuit, designed for 240 m³/s, consisting of an intake, an adduction channel, a head chamber, and a return channel; Construction of a new hydroelectric power plant, located next to the existing plant, equipped with four generator sets with a unit capacity of 8.2 MW; Construction of a new 60-kV substation on a platform located next to the new hydroelectric power plant; Renovation of the access road between the Luachimo Dam and Dundo, and construction of access roads to the power plant, the intake chamber, and the substation.
